As one of the most successful businesses in the Midlands and the North-West, the iconic Cousins furniture brand is steeped in history. Run by the same family that founded it back in 1921, its long-standing reputation across the region and the rest of the UK speaks for itself.
To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the opening of its first furniture store in Tyseley, Birmingham, Hornby Whitefoot were tasked with creating a press campaign that dovetailed with special in-store family events for its customers, held in its two West Midlands branches as well as its flagship store in Manchester. The store extravaganzas took place over the Bank Holiday weekend, where droves of customers were treated to champagne and took part in organised entertainment and auctions raising money for local children’s’ charities.
We created a timeline infographic which supported our pitch to key trade and regional press, capturing the history of Cousins from its humble beginnings. Editors loved the idea, some including it as part of a feature. The Birmingham Evening Mail ran a double page spread and we achieved a further 24 pieces of coverage in the press that covered both the events and the anniversary, ranging from many other local newspapers and lifestyle media to national furniture titles.
